Ad Hoc rescheduled? Is Bruno covering her ass?

The Ad hoc convened by Councilpersons Jewitt, Crooks and Anderson against lone wolf Councilwoman Pat Workman has reportedly been rescheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 2, at the same time. It seems the new town mismanager may have screwed up big time when she passed out an update letter from Jackson Lewis LLP, the bottom feeding lawyers hired by the town to discredit the Quartzsite 10 police officers. Apparently, the lawyers did not mark the letter confidential, and neither did Interim Town Manager Laura Bruno before she handed it out to councilpersons in her office. Now, we hear Bruno has hired a private investigator to go after Workman and clear her own name. More than a little unethical on Bruno's part 'cause it's a clear conflict of interest to us uneducated folks.

Hey Mrs. not so genius after all, communications by the attorney need to be labeled that they're confidential or privileged. If the lawyer doesn't say so explicitly, how would the recipient know for sure. Nobody trusts your judgement since you screwed the school district in CA Mrs. Bruno. When Jackson Lewis (same law firm, same case) published their hit piece on the officers last summer, I mean report that the liars club says cleared the chief, it was the town manager who waived attorney/client privelege to disseminate it. So even if the clown council wants to argue that privelege exists with an attorney being paid with public money (which it doesn't) the precedent exists that the town manager is the responsible party. So sorry Laura.  Marty's opinion has proven wrong at nearly every turn, and Murry is a hack at best (whose compromised by his own ethical dilemma of being a partner at law with Bill Simms of the Risk Pool),so I'm just trying to help you here. You idiots are setting the town up for a defamation suit by Workman and I'll bet she's already shopping attorneys. Or perhaps, they are shopping her!

Lastly show us the penalty for violating attorney/client privilege, 'cause it aint a crime. Lawyers can get sanctioned, but the client can waive the privilege, even in the most unintended manner. It happens every day.

Oh, and before we forget, they've called a special meeting so that they can discuss their official position on Mayor Foster. Will they make the Risk Pool happy and minimalize loss? Or will they continue down the road of municipal destruction?

  1. Is the ad hoc meeting still on for Tuesday? I don't see it on the website. Does anyone know what happened at today's meeting? I was going to attend just to see if the Chief showed up. It's been a few days since he was admonished to stay out of politics, we have a pool going to see how long it will be before he's back in the thick of things. You know he can't follow rules!

  2. Oh, another thing-

"Hey Mrs. not so genious after all, communications by the attorney need to be labeled that they're confidential or privileged".

Can you please show me where this rule is written in the ARS? Because I can't find it. And you misspelled genius.

  3. She'd have to hire Omar the Tent Maker to cover that crooked ass. While Omar's at it, have him cover her face too!

    1. This town could use a few burka shops. I admit, covering Bluto's fat ass would take massive quantities of material, but all I've seen her wear is polyester, and that stuff stretches.

  4. As a supporter of Ed Foster and for transparent government; You people need to get a grip! The Counsel needs, and must be, informed of all things; public or not. When the Town Manager admonishes "Confidential...do not disclose" you don't disclose to anybody! Not your friends, not your so called friends; NOBODY! This isn't hard to understand. Jennifer, I believe in the importance of "transparent government", but what you did was wrong! You betrayed a friend.

BTW, Michael Roth you're just an idiot and should sit down and shut up.

    1. Why was the council given the document anyway? If it was privileged, they could have been shown the document in Bluto's office, they could have read it (one at a time of course, I'm sure Bluto really cares about such things as quorums) and that would have been that. The document never needed to be placed in the councils materials. The fact is, Bluto fucked up. Plus the council wants to make sure Pat gets punished for not falling in lock step with them on putting the joke of a police chief back in office.

    2. Now that's a powerful debate performance control freak scornman. Is that you Ed? I will NOT sit down and shut up until justice is finally served in this town, whether you like it or not. You can accept mediocrity in your life and for your community but I will not. You can allow people with inflated egos push you around, I will not. I live here and as long as I am here I am NOT going to accept criminals running my community, at least I am going to try.

      UN-INCORPORATE NOW!

Pay the piper now or pay much more later!

  5. Scornman, you have absolutely no idea what I did or did not do. All you know is what Bruno said that Pat claims never happened, and what Jewitt and company alledge that Bruno told them, which Pat claims she never said. This is exactly why hearsay is not admissible in a court of law. Mike is no idiot. He's smarter than most of the people in this town, even if he doesn't always articulate his argument in the best manner for idiots to understand. If more people refused to remain silent in the face of tyranny, even if they were like Mike, I don't think things would have gone so far into anarchy. I applaud anyone willing to speak truth to power, even those I disagree with. Those who silently allow tyranny to take over are the problem.

  6. Jennifer, you are absolutely right. I don't know what you did or did not do. If you didn't take the letter...Say so. If you did...Say so. If Patricia didn't understand that the letter was confidential or that the Town Manager didn't tell her...then she should say so. If during the investigation Patricia didn't say you took the letter...she should say so. I've always support you and Ed's efforts for transparent government. But right now it appears that your way is the only way. You seem to be very knowledgeable regarding the law and what is permissible and what is not, and that being said could easily determine that the information provided was confidential and should not have been forwarded to Conley's attorney by anyone. Conley's attorney, by the way, was legally obligated to inform opposing counsel that they had received this confidential information. You should be very interested in identifying who is acting improperly. You voted for change and got it and at long last it appears that Mayor Foster will be finally be seated. From there he can help lead the counsel into changing the township's rules back to what they were before the corrupt counsel, attorney, and town manager revised them. But every action taken today is not a conspiracy. The new town manager promised transparency and vowed not to get involved with local politics. Cleaning up the mess will take some time. Be happy that the counsel appears to be ready to move forward. If you don't like how they are doing it...Vote against them at the next election. Until then be supportive and recognize good change when you see.

  7. Hehehehe hahahaha - transparency and not involved in politics? Bruno hired her tenant, who is not a licensed private investigator as required by state law. She had her tenant investigate her boss! She said they lived in NV, but her husband runs an ad in the 'Mess that claims he's a resident. Oh, and they're bestest buddies with El Jefe. So she lies to the community and blames Workman for losing the ins. when it was cancelled the day after the rest of the council put Dilbert back in. That was before the not confidential document debaucle. Who here thinks that under those circumstances, Bruno set Pat up to take the fall for their plot to reinstate the chief Nazi by giving out copies of the Jackson Lewis letter like it was Howl-o-weenie candy, instead of just showing it to them?

  8. I believe the insurance was cancelled by phone on September 27th, and the official cancelation notice was dated October 5th. Of the several reasons listed, Mrs. Workman's alleged actions were not on the list.

  9. Scornman, I gave my statement to the Parker Pioneer. Now, lets see if they publish it. The council is not moving forward and there is no "good change". Actually there is no change, only more of the same with a couple of different faces. Why do you seem to think the document was confidential when it wasn't. Repeated it like a mantra does not make it so. I know who is acting improperly, it is Laura Bruno. I am very dissapointed in her incompetance and inability to even write a proper agenda. Of course Schneider and Onnofrey had to disclose the document to Jackson Lewis. Duh!

  10. From my observations and information that we are still obtaining along with documentation and evidence, Interim Quartzsite Town Manager Laura Bruno has a lot more to think about that Councilwoman Patricia Workman. We will post this information on our Web Site “aview.info” as soon as we can obtain facts you can read and see for yourselves.

Bob Miller the former owner of the Gem and Investigative Reporter has shared with us the letter from Interim Town Manager Laura Bruno dated October 5th of this year as to one of his “Public Record Request.” As you view the pages look and see if you can see where it is missing information too! We have as well with the guidance from Bob listed two Case Files, one from the Arizona Appellate Court and the second from the Arizona Supreme Court. As you can see, Mrs. Bruno needs to bone up on the Arizona Public Records Laws before she starts pulling the same un-lawful stunts as Taft & Brannan.

  11. Scornman,

You may wish to take the time to review the letter from Bob Miller to Interim Town Manager Laura Bruno, dated 12OCT12 and with part quote:

“For your reference, I am enclosing the findings of the Arizona Appeals Court in the case of T.Rigel Corporation v State of Arizona. I would also suggest you see “Phoenix Newspapers Inc./access (Right to inspect public records concerning Curtis Copper of Florence, Arizona. Sufficient additional case law exists to support my cause for action against Quartzsite for its outrageous and unlawful denial of my right to inspect public records.”

If you had done YOUR homework as related to this issue you would find that the actions taken by Laura Bruno were unlawful and is in fact the cause of any leak of information. By copping said letter, she then placed that information into the Public Records and made it available for public viewing.

You can view the full letter at our web site along with two Case Law Files that address this issue that clear Councilwoman Workman. All Bruno and the Ad-Hoc Committee did was to allow for another Civil Case to be filed with the Town of Quartzsite!
