The last gasp of the unholy trinity?

Police Chief Jeff Gilbert, Town Manager Alex Taft, and outgoing "mayor" Wes Huntley just won't accept reality.

Before 10 am, Gilbert was already out of control. Thanks to Councilman Lukkason, his neighbor Russell Sias had already received a warning of potential problems today. (Way to step up Jerry! Congratulations, by the way.) Gilbert was video taped in the parking lot of the post office trying to take out his vengeance against Mike Roth, yet again! Mayor elect Ed Foster arrived on scene quickly to dissipate the tension and send Jeff on his way, with Sias and Jones as potential witnesses for Roth's plausible lawsuit. The rumor this morning is that Jeff and Sondra's ballots cast in Tuesday's election may be under investigation...

When Foster picked up his packet this morning for Tuesday night's Council meeting, he discovered that Huntley and Taft had orchestrated an emergency meeting for 2:30 today. It may have been "posted"somewhere, but it was definitely not posted on the Town website.Among the items hastily placed onto this last minute pre Foster agenda is the final approval of town engineer, and the CDBG grant that Taft's charity is supposed to administrate.

UPDATE:
WELL, IT'S MONDAY MORNING AND THE AGENDA FOR TOMORROW NIGHT'S REGULAR MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL HAS YET TO BE POSTED! IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THE HUNTLEY/TAFT/GILBERT ALLIANCE WOULD CONTEMPLATE SOME DESPERATE STUNT? HOW LONG CAN THE COUNCIL AVOID THE TRUTH? WILL AN AGENDA BE POSTED BY DAYS END?

EVEN IF ALL OF THEIR PET PROJECTS WERE RUSHED THROUGH THE SPECIAL MEETING, THE CONSENT AGENDA CAN ONLY BE APPROVED AT A REGULAR MEETING. AN AGENDA IS BEING DRAFTED THAT INCLUDES THE SWEARING IN OF FOSTER. MORE UPDATES TO FOLLOW...

THIS JUST IN AT 4PM:
TOWN MISMANAGER ALEX TAFT HAS PLACED ITEMS ON TUESDAY NIGHT'S AGENDA DESIGNED AT CHANGING THE MAYOR'S POWERS UNDER THE TOWN CODE! ALSO ON THE AGENDA COURTESY OF TAFT IS A POSSIBLE REVISION TO THE TOWN CODE AFFECTING KAREN NORRIS' POSITION AS TOWN CLERK. SEE YOU AT 7PM TOMORROW!

SO MUCH FOR "WORKING TOGETHER", IT PROMISES TO BE A KNOCK DOWN DRAG OUT THAT MAY NOT END WITH THE SWEARING IN FOLKS. GOOD THING FOSTER HAS LAWYERED UP ALREADY! CAN YOU SAY REFERENDUMS?

  1. And Jeffy managed to harass Jerry with a bogus charge of "disorderly conduct" at the "special" meeting. As it's been shown repeatedly, there's no free speech under Wes' reign of terror. Thank dog it's over very soon.
High point of the day? When Hal Davidson asked Huntley a question and was told that Wes didn't have to answer him - So Davidson responded with something like "I guess that's why you didn't get re elected!"

  2. Many people were there at that meeting, Jade, and you weren't, we noticed. We saw you right after the meeting walking around barefoot at your 'pet spa'. BTW, nothing wrong with that. But, before you jump on that, we're just letting others know you were not at the meeting. Which only brings to bear the hearsay you keep bringing here and not even getting the information correctly.

You were not there to see Wilcox's disruptive behavior, therefore, you cannot comment on what Chief Gilbert and/or Jerry Wilcox did, or did not do.

The question Hal asked was why wouldn't the Council just approve (or not) the discussion on the agenda. He actually smirked. The items on the agenda ARE worded correctly. The Council was to discuss and "possibly" approve the subject at hand.

Unfortunately, Hal made a fool of himself not understanding the verbage right in front of him. It was sad, everyone chuckled, including the reformists. Some of us did not laugh, we could tell he did not understand a thing. Possibly this gives the idea of the difficulty he had overall with participating on the Council itself.

As many know, the Council was to discuss the subject on the agenda FIRST, then possibly approve it, or not approve it, SECOND.

Again, all you are trying to do is keep people apart, not good, and we see through all of this.

  3. Chief Gilbert has long been harrasing any members of the community that oppose him and his interests let's hope that Mayor Foster and the council members send him packing. Having candidates investigated alleging that they do meet residency requirements simply because they pose a threat to you is appalling Chief Gilbert.

  4. Rain, rain go away...

"Anonymous", I didn't need to be there in the flesh, thanks to modern electronics I can enjoy Alex's worried hand wringing from the comfort of my RV!

If you were there then you don't need me to give you the play by play...Catch it on YouTube soon!!!

But the validation that I'm under surveillance certainly backs up what people have been telling me - so thanks for that! (And I wasn't barefoot, the rocks there are hell on your feet.)

  5. Don't think that fewer comments means fewer readers, it's just that Police Chief Jeff Gilbert/anonymous/JQ Doe Public was becoming a comment hog and annoying everyone with his dissertations, so he is on permanent moderation. It was amusing though, playing the game with him for a while. But I've grown weary of it and now that Ed has taken office the Chief has more important things to worry about. We won't miss you Jeff. Really, we won't!

  6. Ohhhhh, dare I say it? Do I really feel a sense of hope? Shall I be able once again to take a deep breath and feel the joyous freedom that was once Quartzsite?

I keep hearing a song, sounds like, "Ding dong, the witch is gone..."

    Thank you for this forum!

  7. You're welcome!

Comments don't have to make SENSE here, although yours certainly does! This is an "unsensored" place for everyone except the police chief. Silly man couldn't read and thought the business card said "UNCENSORED". Another reason not to trust his investigative skills, in my opinion.

  8. It definitely is NOT uncensored - my post yesterday morning obviously was not "approved". Evidently you are allowed to say anything you like, true, false or half-truth, but no one is allowed to be critical of you. BTW, how about a definition of "unsensored" - not a word I can find in any dictionary. Also BTW, I am not the police chief, just an ordinary citizen fed up with your puerile postings.

  9. If you review all of the comments, you will see that people have been critical since I began. If you are "fed up", then don't read what I post. You're not a prisoner of this blog. You can leave any time.

I never claimed to be at the keyboard 24/7...just waiting for comments. Some of us have a life "off line" as well.

Language evolves and people make up new words all the time. "Blog" wasn't a word you could find in the dictionary until recently. And yet somehow, here we are!

I have posted to numerous blogs and readers forums over the years. Not everything I submit get "approved". (Your post from yesterday was approved.) Would you like some cheese to go with your whine?

  10. This post isn't in any way trying to sway anybody's opinion on the Chief, and unfortunantly this incident didn't make it on video to show you that the Chief does care for the people he made an oath, along with all his other officers to protect.

A very close friend of mine had tragedy strike him suddenly, my friend lost someone very close. Now Chief and the other officers could have just been cops and did their investigation and gone right back to the streets, but they didn't. Chief sat with my friend for hours, and according to my friend not much was said, but when my friend broke down the chief was there for my friend with comforting words and basically a shoulder to cry on. Now this happened for the several hours that the chief sat with my friend, but the chief and one of the officers stayed until my friend wanted to be alone. Even then the chief made absolute sure that this is what my friend wanted.

I am sure in the chiefs career that this wasn't the first incident and I am sure it won't be his last. But of course this story will probably be torn apart with conspiracy theory's and slander, but there are some of us in Quartzsite that stand behind our government, our civil servants, and our citizens. On a finishing note, my friend will never forget the compassion shown by our local PD.

  11. Hey Q-Town, which other officer? He or she should share in the credit, don't you think?

  12. You are right ARfighter, but unfortunantly my friend doesn't know all of the officers names so that one will know who they are if they read this forum.

  15. Maybe you should have advertised this blog as nonsense-ored? Methinks anonymous would still be nit picking. Thanks for saying what we've all been thinking Arfighter!
