How to protect yourself from Police Chief Jeff Gilbert

The Quartzsite Police Department has become deeply divided over it's current figurehead, Police Chief Jeff Gilbert. Leadership sets the tone for policy, both official and unofficial. It's rumored that the officers under Sgt. Will Ponce do not even speak to the officers under Sgt. Xavier Frausto. This cannot be good for the department or the Town. It is also rumored that depending on the election outcome, many of the officers may look for work elsewhere.

If Foster becomes mayor, the Chief's misconduct will likely be sufficient grounds for his dismissal, and the good officers will stay.We cannot afford to lose those good officers, but if Huntley and Gilbert remain, the Town may be left with what many view as a group of petty thugs enforcing the laws for the personal benefit of certain individuals. The police are here to "protect and serve", the whole community.

As the election nears, Gilbert seems to become more unpredictable. So here's some great videos on how to interact with the police...just in case.

  1. You people are INSANE! This is like stand up comedy on the internet. For starters, if you aren't being a dipstick there is no reason for you to have any contact with the police other than them trying to assist you in some way. And for some of you wacky birds on here, no the police will not assist you if you think you found an alien escape pod in your back yard.

As far as Ed Foster goes, after watching the video posted on this blog site, if I was Gilbert I would have ripped him out of his car, thrown him on the ground and slapped cuffs on him so fast his goatee would have been laying on the drivers seat! When the police tell you to leave the area during an investigation, get the HE-double hocky sticks out of dodge! The great thing about the whole video is it shows just the type of person Mr. Foster is, he apparently doesn't lead by example. Check the manual folks, that is rule number one in leadership for dummies.

It has been said before and I will say it again, Thank god you people have no direct control over the decision making. You need to stick to your alien conspiracy theories and beer drinking, it is what you are good at and leave the decision making up to the pro's.

  2. What a joke, you people in Quartzsite are just a bunch of whinners ya may want to move to Greenbay so you'll have some cheese to go with that whine of yours. Did you ever stop to thing the 2 day shift Sgts work eachothers days off? Gee maybe thats what makes you idiots down there think the police officers don't talk to eachother. I don't chit chat with my co workers that work on my days off because I don't see them at work because they are working my days off and I sure as all heck have better things to do on my days off then come by work to chit chat with people that are working. Where do you people get this stuff, smoking too much pot down there?

  3. Thank you for saying that Anonymous, you probably won't get to read this due to the fact they are Censoring me, which is kinda ironic is that they all complain about their freedom of speech being violated. But if this does make it there I want you to know that I agree with you 110%.

  4. Well, once again we've been graced by the presence of Jeff Sorensen...I mean Q-Town Defender. So tell us Q-Town, since you seem to be a "Defender" of the Chief, did Gilbert tell you how to test (or not test...)the water samples? Or perhaps destruction of evidence was your idea? And since it's pretty clear you won't be able to work with Ed Foster...after the election, who will defend your dereliction of duty when the new budget is drawn up?

    ReplyDelete
  5. Wow! Some serious accusations based on all your hard evidence accusing a guy that isn't even here to defend himself. I would actually like to see what Sorensen would say if he read your yammering.

But Sorensen isn't the issue here, the issue is you attacking Gilbert (yet another person that hasn't done anything wrong). Yall seem to have a pattern of pointing your mouse at the wrong people, are we guilty of something so you are throwing up a smoke screen? Of course you are, I am sure it wouldn't take much digging to find out exatctly what kinda person you are or any of the people trying to disrupt our little town.
I would actually love to say that Karma will get you for all your misdealings and hateful comments towards people that are here to help, but I think it already has, that is why you are such a hateful individual.
But yet again, I can rest at night cause all the crap you people have pulled in the past, and will still pull in the future ain't going to ammount to a pot of beans in the end. You will still end up a burnt out boozer irritating everyone with all your conspiracy theory's. Head back to the fence line of Area 51 and leave the people trying to make a difference alone.

And Jeff, pulling down that incoherent post you had up in April "Mind your own business ordnance" didn't do any good, it's cached, and at least one copy was saved. But you were smart to take it down 'cause it sure made you look like an idiot!

  7. And...watching Ed Foster meander around, looking at the notes on the wall, mumbling to the reform slate members as he walks around and ALL during a Town Council Meeting, makes him look like he is any bit interested in this Town at all? C'mon, we all witnessed Foster walking around at every meeting never paying any attention to any information given, not listening to any debate, not offering an ear, a word, or anything but footsteps. My, how important he thinks this Town is. Foster is not a tax-payer, has no interest in this town either literally, fiscally, or in any way but to sue the Town, lose his case, plead being poor so he only has to pay back a nominal sum monthly. These are all facts easily read at the Town of Quartzsite. In my opinion, his only interest, it appears, is to get a salary.

Then Foster runs to get a Mayor's salary. I wonder if the State and County know how Ed is trying to trick the legal system? Plead poor to pay back for his dismissed lawsuit, and then run to get a higher salary. If Foster does in any possible way win, will he be honest at all to let the Courts know he all of a sudden has a higher income? Could he be honest at all, in my opinion?

  8. To make the chief of police, the building inspector, code inforcement and problems with "permits" go away, you can try makeing a donation/payment to "will power" or any other Alex Taft scheme...

    I hear it works wonders...

    ReplyDelete
  9. John Doe, how utterly ridiculous. You and the reform slate/coalition would love to make things that are legal and improve the town for all of its citizens and visitors go away so you don't have to pay your due...but it is not going to happen. We have laws, rules, and ordinances for a reason...to make sure all are treated fairly and for the Town to be safe, and self-sufficient. Your personal agendas should go after a town who actual wants lawlessness and ruthlessness, not here.

    ReplyDelete
  10. censoring now like q-town defender says, so much for freedom of speech....well that is not going to stop the visit by the marshalls to pick up jack on tuesday.....bye bye and good riddins!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Boy, you can certainly see that the reform slate and members do not like "law and order". This is exactly the problem here with this ridiculous bantering back and forth.

The Reform Group wants to get in to stop all law and order. They want to go back to the days of personal agendas to wash away taxes they owe, fees/levies not paid, not understanding their past of not raising the water/sewage rates (didn't raise them for 10 years, how many things do you know of that hasn't raised at all for over 10 years?) but stealing from the hurf funds to pay for higher costs created one huge mess for this current Council. This was all done by the majorities of past Councils, not this one. Since this all started about 9-10 years ago, does anyone remember who was the Mayor at that time? Who was on the Council then? And look at all those who were the majority of the Councils since. Then look at who is involved in the Reform Slate and membership.

In the 7 or so months this current Council has been together, they cleaned up the illegal mess of the water/sewage rates. Yes, we have to pay more and fast, if we don't, Arizona shuts down Quartzsite and takes over this juisdiction completely. Then they will bring in independents for the water & sewage. Do you all have any idea what rates we will come then? Oh, probably 3-4 times what we pay today, and possibly more with increases EVERY year. I would rather pull in my belt this year and next and know it will keep us self-sufficient here. The current Council has also approved of a hotel, a community building for all (and paid by a grant), a concession stand, fixing roads, etc., etc. The reform slate keeps saying where is all this. Well, I believe most realistic people know that government does take time and the processes must be followed but they are ALL in process. I'd say they should be recommended for what they've done in such a short time and vote for them on May 18th. Let them keep doing what they've been doing...getting us all back on the right track, a legal and safe one, also thanks to the Police Department for keeping us safe: a Town to be proud of and to be part of and inviting for others to come and stay for a short while, longer, or move in.

When this recession finally subsides, we will see the return of more vendors, more snowbirds and more business. Our current Council is helping on the infrastructure and will continue. Please vote May 18th. Every vote does matter. Show your pride.

  12. Q-Town Defender, don't you worry, there are many of us who like law and order, rules, and ordinances. It is what makes us civil and civilized. Quartzsite is a terrific, safe and quiet town. It will survive these boisterous and heartless attacks.

We know the reformists here and around town wish to go back to the start of this demise started 11 years ago when lawlessness, breaking all rules and selfishness about personal agendas reigned. Any other newer reformists should get a quick history lesson on some of its members who were the heart of this Quartzsite lawlessness back 11 years ago to the last 2 years before the current Council took over, and that is after Bill Moore's dismissal. These reformists will use any excuse to make an innuendo or rumor to get people riled up. It isn't working reformists. We know there has been a terrible recession world-wide for over 2 years now and you cannot blame Quartzsite for any of it. In fact, Quartzsite is doing better than most in most categories of safety, home depreciation, schools, job rates, etc. I'd say we are doing great in spite of the economy.

Just wait til this recession is over, people and vendors will be back, more will move in, infrastructure is well on its way, and always improving. Hey, this is a great town!

  13. It is amazing to see how the main faction here is opposed to law enforcement, protection under the law, AZ building codes and ordinances. As that appears to be true, then they must want lawlessness. The 19th Century of lawlessness has been gone for a long time and the townspeople prefer how it is now, safe and quiet with law-abiding citizens.

    1. You QZ officials posting on here are not being honest. The city uses the codes to intimidate, cause havoc and to terrorize those who disagree with you. It is not that the people appose law and order, they want it enforced properly and to receive fair and equal treatment. Not used to vandalize those who oppose you.

  14. It appears that the opposing side would like law and order to go away here in Quartzsite. We are a safe and quiet town, we are proud and happy to be residents here. The vote will reflect that tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  15. There is no law and order as long as Jeff Gilbert is in charge. We'll see who prevails when the last vote is counted.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Jeff Gilbert, as Police Chief, is the law and order, period. That is what he was hired for. The laws of the USA, the State of Arizona, and the laws, rules, and regulations of Quartzsite are here for all of us to abide by and he and his teams do that and are here to make sure the rest of us abide by them as well.

It is a pity that you on the opposing side use nothing but empty rhetoric, rumors, unsubstantiated words to smear someone. How pathetic that you simply cannot go by the rules that keep us all a civilized society. Possibly it is your time to find another place that you can try to disrupt.

    2. Oh you all are so innocent! lol 3/4 of the police force are fired and one man is believed over all of them..and then he proves their accusations to be true by the video's produced of Gilbert. The town pros. is a nut job and one of the most vile people I have ever witnessed with that blog of his, the QuartzsiteBagger. Rules and regulations are changed to help cover up their illegal activity and you dare get on here defending them? This tells me you are one of them, Show us the missing money and maybe then we can start believing you...Where did the extra checks go? You never mention that do you...

  17. There is law and order for the most part, if we could keep the trash out of town that want to just soak off the system and rip everyone off that has worked their butt of for what they have then you are right, but he can't, this is a free country. In the 60's a cop could shoot you in the back if you ran from them, now they have to take crap from a canditate.
If Q-town could get a government to stick around for awhile without ummmm Dying, or quiting because he didn't get his personal adgenda fixed the way he wanted, or being ran out on a rail, then we would probably get something done. What I find oh so ammusing is that all you and Vigilante what's his face go on about is prevailing. Now my socialist friend, that is hilarious. Never any mention about the people of this community, never any mention of the good things your coalition want to do, all you talk about is winning and destroying anybody that has or is trying to better this town.
This town will survive no matter what, and that is why I hope to be buried in the cemetary here. You can drag up dirt on Alex, you can drag up dirt on Gilbert, but guess what gents, you need to convince the existing councel to follow your bullcrap and I think they have more sense than that.
Anywho, see you at the voting booth and I know the Town of Quartzsite will vote for the town, not the ones that want "TO PREVAIL!" LOL
That line kinda tickles me. Sawwy. HAHA
    KICK ARSE WES!

  20. Civilized? Quartzsite? You need to get out in the real Town "Anonymous" and not the imaginary one in your head. Gilbert spend so much time at my place that he didn't notice or care babout real crime that was going on. If you like rules and ordinances so much, I'm sure that Cuba, China, North Korea or someplace would welcome your subservience.

And Sorensen, it doesn't look like Wes is kicking "arse". It looks like a recount may happen before this one is over!!!

  21. you Gilbert fans are all a bunch of idiots.... i mean come on this is a man who was a baggage handler his whole life he worked 3 months as a cop previously to being hired as the Chief here in Q. He is a JOKE try listening to him on the scanner sometime lol but as with most of the town employees they are puppets to Alex Taft well if they want to keep their job that is lol its all a joke this town is DEAD and has nothing to do with the economy

  22. and by the way Defender if you really thing that Alex and Gilbert are trying to better this town you need to wake up I have lived here for over 20 years now besides if the Chief cared so much about Quartzsite then why doesnt he live here? hhhhhmmmmmmmmmm????????

  23. Say bye bye Jeff...

  24. Well Anonymous, apparently for the 20 years you lived here you did it asleep. I have lived here for less and watched them do alot. So you can keep crying about a ticket you got in 1942, but I have no sympathy for you. And I won't tell you where Chief lives cause I know alot about you people here, but he does have a plot in this great town. Even Dan has a plot here, so quit being ignorant and just enjoy what Q-town has to offer. Just remember, there are worse places in the world.

  25. And, as I see and hear, the opposers are slowly leaving...

This is a terrific town, it's why we are all here and we are all glad this is all over. Let's get back to what is important, the Town of Quartzsite. No more individual issues, just the Town.

  26. Yes "JQ", what have YOU done for the Town? I've spent almost a quarter of my life serving this community. I've re-homed unwanted pets, hosted the Boy Scouts, Performed with the kids from the Scholars Academy, marched in the parades, taught dog bite safety to the children's after school program at the library, chased stray dogs down Main St...You claim the Town is important "JQ", so what do YOU do besides make nasty comments on this blog? Just curious...

    ReplyDelete
  27. Being a first time poster and reading all comments IMHO, (other than a few posts) everyone should pick up a copy of the Constitution and read it. Then they might grasp how law enforcement should be and possibly post something of substance. As this department has sworn an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution. The Constitution IS the Law of the Land. Any Law, Act or Statute that is not in agreement with the Constitution is null and void. Which means this department either never read the Constitution or are intentionally breaking the law everyday. It's time to get out of the playground. Along with a new Mayor should come constructive, non finger pointing progressive dialog.

  28. I couldn't agree with you more!

  29. why was the mayor of quartzsite down at the post office with the recall movement, when all he wants is to HEAL the town. that so called heal the town is more like bring it down to his low life level

    ReplyDelete
  30. Gee, I'll bet you don't have the guts to stand up and ask him yourself, face to face, in those exact words at "call to the Public". The freedom you obviously don't appreciate is that Foster will let you be that nasty, while Huntley preferred to have any reasonable voice of opposition forcefully removed from the room by the police. As long as members of the Council continue to disrespect the laws they swore to uphold, then there will be no healing. After the last two meetings, it's clear that they should be recalled, as they are violating their Oath of Office.
