Well, now that the final results are in and the voters have spoken LOUDLY in regards to pedicurist Deena Blythe - here is your electioneering report:
Blythe's claim that she was destined for Town Council was apparently a check written by her big mouth, that the voters couldn't cash. What a surprise! Speaking of checks that wouldn't cash...stop by and talk to JAG signs - trust me on this.
Ms. Blythe, (a legend in her own mind) must have been shocked to find that she finished in next to last place, after being released from the hospital for an undisclosed disease that locals speculate might have Lon Lundgren of "Mr. Motorhome" checking with the county health department. If you're concerned, you can check on her health yourself at the La Paz County Superior Court on Monday, March 15th, at 3pm for her pretrial hearing on those level 4 felony charges.
Local developer Eric Larson, a ghost of a candidate, still managed to finish above Blythe, despite having no campaign signs, not appearing at the "Meet the Candidates" forum, and having poll workers erroneously posting a sign claiming that Larson dropped out. Why the low profile Eric? Could it have something to do with the two properties you just sold to Police Chief Jeff Gilbert? Supposedly you lowered the sale price by $20,000 after Chief Gilbert and Al Johnson the "Building Official" paid you a little visit...so does the phrase "don't mess with the Chief of Police" sound at all familiar Eric? Just buy an insurance policy, install some security cameras and tell Compliance Manager, Bob Irish with AZPOST what really went down before escrow closed.

As for other electioneering news, Candidate Bob Kelley's wife Carol (treasurer for the Senior Center where both "Meet the Candidates" and the voting took place) was reportedly the source of that phone call to Alex Taft, which prompted Chief Gilbert into harassing those assembled who were legally holding signs for the opposition candidates. Voters have apparently filed complaints with the County Elections Board alleging that Carol and the Chief of Police were allowed free access to the polling place without being election officials, and because Carol was witnessed hypocritically telling voters that the free speech advocates assembled outside were the ones "harassing" voters. If John D. "Skip" GallupIII, the incumbent supporter who paid for that libelous Desert Messenger ad was looking for "police harassment", maybe Skip should have stayed at the polls for a few hours...Oh wait, he's not a registered voter!
